I have heard the expression "bu xing de", meaning that it is not okay to do something. Can you explain word by word what it means?

I am interested in knowing statistics about characters. Such as:
How large the vocabulary is of the average well-educated native speaker?
How large is the vocabulary of a "fluent" non-native speaker?
What is the average reading level and character content of a daily newspaper?
Thank-you

The average vocabulary of literate people should be around 3000-5000. If you want to read daily newspaper fluently, it probably requires that amount of characters. For non-native speakers, if you know several basic hundred characters, you can manage the things like going out shopping, dining, and so on. I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
